What is one piece of advice would you give to a young lawyer looking to get into the field of international law?

"Don't be discouraged by the current trend of some countries violating international trade agreements or attempting to negate them. A pendulum swing back towards international law is inevitable, given our global interdependence and shared challenges like climate change. There will be ample opportunities for young lawyers who believe in a better world and seek to contribute through international law. This field is ripe for intellectually free-spirited jurists who master various aspects of public and private international law and are determined to reframe our international trade agreements. Embrace a multidisciplinary approach, focusing on areas like environmental law, human rights, and trade regulations. Stay informed about global affairs and develop strong analytical and communication skills in multiple languages. Network with professionals in the field and consider internships at international organizations, NGOs and private organizations. Remember, your passion for creating positive change through international law will be your greatest asset in this dynamic and rewarding career path."
