Originally from St John’s Newfoundland, Sara L Seck, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University (Halifax, Nova Scotia) where she is also a member of the Marine and Environmental Law Institute, and a Senior Fellow in the International Environmental Law research stream of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI)’s International Law Research Program. In 2015, she was awarded the Emerging Scholarship Award by the Academy of Environmental Law of the IUCN, for her contributions to environmental law scholarship since 2007. Professor Seck is a member of the editorial board of the recently launched Business and Human Rights Journal (Cambridge University Press), a member of the governance committee of Columbia University’s Teaching Business and Human Rights Forum, and a member of the academic outreach committee of the Canadian Council on International Law. She also serves as Deputy Director for North America of the Global Network for the Study of Human Rights and the Environment.
