Prof. Andrew Newcombe  is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law since 2002 at the University of Victoria. He teaches international investment law, international law and commercial law and international arbitration. He has worked in the International Arbitration Public International Law groups of Freshfields Bruckahaus Deringer in Paris.  In 2014 he created  ITA ( Investment Treaty Arbitration), an international research website focused on international investment treaty law and arbitration. He advises governments, investors and non-state actors and acts as counsel and arbitrator and he is co-author of Law and Practice of Investment treaties: Standars of Treatment (Kluwer 2009) and co- editor of Sustainable Development in World Investment Law ( Kluwer 2011) among other publications.
